Scope of the activities of the road use behavior and training section
The road traffic system revolves around the individuals that use it. The individual is a participant, a planner and a cause of the traffic on our roads every day. Each individual has a direct influence on road safety – as a result of his own situation, behavior and risk consciousness.
The primary aim of the UDV’s accident research is to reduce the number of accidents and lessen their consequences. Despite a well developed road system and the latest technical innovations that can make the roads safer, people will continue to make mistakes, violate rules and cause accidents in the future.
The job of the road use behavior and training department is to identify risk groups and factors and offer appropriate assistance.
Safety concepts and helpful information are provided to selected target groups – accident commissions, for example. Measures to be taken and training programs are developed, and people are trained to train the trainers. In addition, it is the aim of the UDV to improve the status and work of accident commissions on both the technical and the political level.
